Last entry :( I have no idea who read my terrible spelllinvg and not good grammar but I had fun making this blog. It's going to be great going back to the first entry and working my way through it again. I think you can probably tell we had a great time.

Flight back

Bbbbllluuffgggggghhhh... The flight home was long. It shouldn't take over 20 hours to get from Toronto to Edinburgh. I guess a delay in Toronto making us miss our connection in Paris and the Paris plane breaking down could have something to do with it.

Scratching their heads :(

And Laura didn't say much on the flight over. She is gona kill me for this photo, ha!

Last day

Its our last day and our flight leaves at 6 o'clock tonight. I'm not gona waste the day so we are in Toronto and I'm back on the beach first thing. Nice and relaxing :) Laura can't sit still for more than two minutes so shes off, but me, I could laze on a beach for ages.

Ahhh the whole Beach to myself except for some dragon boaters. The sun is shining, Life is good :)

I'm not upset it's our last day. Iv had the most amazing time over here and can't moan about going home as it's been so good for me.

Niagara from the air

On the way back to Toronto we flew past Niagara falls. Very cool to see :)

You can see how built up it is around the falls.

Last day NYC

There is just tooooo much to see when in New York. We went to see US Intrepid. A world war 2 carrier that suffered a kamikaze attack. Pretty cool.

Then back to Guggenheim to meet a couple of people who were on Laura's intrepid trip through the Rockies. Steff and Adam organised for us to go to a comedy show called "comic strip". Really good show, the host was particularly good. Eddie Murphy played there once. Oooooh I hear you say.

We went to a cool wee diner called "Ruby's" and I had the best shake I have ever had. I didn't mind paying the 7 bucks for it either!

And Mayor Goldie Wilson was there. "I'm gona clean up this town!"

iPhone location

The cool thing I noticed with the iPhone is that every time I took a photo it recorded it's location on the maps.

You can see the route we took through the Rockies as you zoom in. Pretty cool, eh!

NYC photos

It's New York and pictures say it all really. Here are a few highlights so far.

Wall street. We went to see "the bodies" exhibition which is not far from here. It's Gunther Von Hagens work and it's amazing to see the human body exhibited this way.

Went on a clipper past liberty.

You can work that one out. The exhibit with 100,000 one dollar bills stapled to a wall was a highlight. Although seeing a real Degas bronze sculpture, original Picasso and Van Gogh was the real highlight :)

Times square

The dinos at the natural history museum are amazing. They have only found about 15 T Rex heads, and that's one of them.

At the MET museum they have basically removed an entire tomb from Egypt and placed it here! That museum is just too big with too much stuff to see.

F.A.O Schwarz Lego Jonny depp. Laura got over excited.

Me with a real life radio city rockette girl! She could pretty much take my head clean off with how high these girls can kick!

Empire was awesome...

...But the top of the rock was even better. You get a great view of empire and just to the right of the empire state you can see them starting work on one world trade centre. Can't wait to see what we get up to tomorrow!

Jerry the limo guy

Had a great night last night :) the hostel set up a meet and greet pub crawl and after a few drinks a few of us decided to go to time square at night. We hailed a yellow cab but a guy in a limo stopped as well and said he was taking the limo downtown to get it repaired... So for 25 bucks for all of us we got a limo ride through time square! Jerry the limo guy was a great host!

He even came back to pick us up at the end of the night. So a grand total of 60 bucks for all 5 of us there and back.
I'm not sure why I'm holding his belly in this photo :/ I don't think he liked it. Oh, and as we were driving back to the hostel he showed us strawberry fields and where Lennon was shot.

Should I talk about the bins?...
No, I shouldn't!

Hockey hall of fame

I do like my hockey and when I saw they had the hall of fame here I did get a bit excited :)

Lots and lots of pucks!

Ok, it's not actually the Stanley cup. Since the Boston bruins just won they get to keep it for 100 days. The actual cup only spends a couple of weeks here as it's touring the rest of the time

Corn. Yum!

On the way back from the islands Stephen took us to this jamaican guy who cooks the best tasking corn on the cob! Seriously, the stuff he puts on it. Heaven :)

Toronto. Beaches?!?

What a great, warm day. It was 30 degrees at 9.30 this morning. Oooft! It got pretty darn hot. We met up with Stephen again and he took us across to the islands to have a shot of his kayak. It's amazing that you can go from this:

To this:

in less than 15 minutes! Just a short ferry ride and you in a completely different world with nice looking sandy beaches.

The islands are partly man made. When they were digging out the underground, this is where they dumped it all. Its a Great place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I would even say its better than Stanly park with all these awesome beaches.

Meeting kiwi...again!

Third time this trip we have met up with kiwi Willis. Great chap. We all watched the Canada day fireworks then headed into town for a wee booze up. The next day we headed to the steam whistle brewery. Toronto's local pilsner. A bit of hair of the dog me thinks!

Lots of free samples :)

Then it was off to the gay pride! Yup it's gay pride weekend and we went to watch the dyke march. All good fun!

You gotta support the pride.

Rainbow colours were everywhere!

The gushing grannies were a particular highlight

Dykes on bikes!

We met Stephen!

We met up with stephen today. I haven't seen Stephen for years and it was great to met up with him on Canada day, especially as he is almost a Canadian citizen, just one more hurdle. He has been here for 8 years now and loves the place. I can see why :)
iPhones cameras are crap for night time or indoors but he is in this pic. He is going to take us to the islands on Sunday to have a go in his kayak. Looking forward to that!

The best thing about knowing a local is that they take you to less known but cool places. The Dakota tavern was one of these places. Really small bar but Stephens friend plays amazing piano. It was almost like something out of a western salloon with a guy playing a piano in the corner. Great night.

Toronto islands

Had a very slow start to the day but turned out to be awesome! Me Laura and a canadian guy called Alex wondered about town before deciding on going across to Toronto islands. It's so nice looking back across at Toronto. We also bumped into Toby (Swiss) and sebastian (German) and we ended up playing frisbee on the beach. Nice!
